Meet Michelle

Hi you! Thanks SO much for tuning in today. If this is your first time swinging by, I put together a little post as a get to know me a bit. Mostly, I would LOVE to get to know you, and hear all about your big day! After reading about about my love affair with photography, swing by my contact page and tell me a bit about yourself!

I was introduced to the art of photography in college, while getting my Art degree.

I would spend long nights in the dark room developing prints the good old-fashioned way. I have a strong base in manual film photography and I've grown to love digital work as well.
My background in Fine Arts has brought a definitive influence to my work. In all my shoots, I inject creativity, uniqueness, and an artistic touch. I love photographing  anything outside of the box.  I love to photograph clients in edgy , urban settings,  or drag vintage furniture out to a grassy, romantic field.

I have been known  to mount a bride on a dreamy white horse, lie her down in a blanket of colorful leaves, or have her run through a field of vibrant sunflowers or lavender.

I'm not confined to one genre.. just anything artistic! I love to create beautiful custom work for each client,  thinking up one-of-a kind shoots to suit their unique personalities.

I'm based in the D.C./Alexandria VA. area, but love traveling for weddings when my schedule allows. Thanks for checking me out;  I hope that I'm the right photographer for you!  If so, drop me a note on my CONTACT PAGE and let’s start planning a beautiful unique shoot for you... can't wait to hear about what you've been dreaming up!

Meet Pablo!

Hey Readers!

Today's the day! Our first video post. I wanted to break in this new development by giving you a chance to get to know Pablo a bit more.  I waited for YEARS before I found a photographer I felt like I truly trusted my brand with, and had the same artistic vision as me as we both come from a background in Fine Arts and a classical training in film photography. Pablo has been a HUGE asset to me, and an awesome unexpected friend. I hope you enjoy getting to know him a bit better!

Want to know more... here's a shot blurb I had Pablo write about himself:

Ciao, I’m Pablo. I’m originally from Uruguay and I grew up in Milan. My love and passion for photography began in the ‘radio room’ of my grandfather’s Montevideo house. As a boy, I spent hours flipping through musty issues of National Geographic and while other kids daydreamed about being soldiers or policemen I imagines myself traveling on assignments around the world taking pictures for National Geographic.

At the age of 15 I received my first film camera from my aunt Rosario. I went on to study graphic design and photography at Caterina da Siena School of Graphic Design and Photo Arts in Italy. I began my studies in graphic design but my 3rd year of my program we had intensives in photography. Once I saw my first image appear on photo paper in the dim lights of the darkroom, I was hooked for the rest of my life. I’ve had many opportunities to display my work. I’ve held shows in Virginia, DC, and New York, and had my work printed in magazines such as the Washington Post, L.A. Times and NY times.

My favorite project was when I was hired by Chef Jose Andres to shoot landscapes of Spain for his cookbook “Made in Spain”.

I’ve really enjoyed the last several years digging into wedding photography with Michelle. I loved being able to capture the emotions of the day and all the special moments. I’d love to grab an espresso and chat more about your special day."

So happy to have you on the team Pablo!

Murray Hill Fall Wedding: Kiran and John

Are you enjoying this new little addition of video to my blog posts? I love it :) I'm SO excited to  share this gorgeous Murray Hill Wedding with you.  You may remember when I had the opportunity to travel to NYC and do Kiran and John's Classic West Village Engagement . Well, a few weeks ago they ushered in the changing of the fall leaves with a stunning rustic wedding at Murray Hill. Sit back and enjoy.

The bouquets and arrangements by Holly Chapple Flowers were IN-CRE-DI-BLE. She used so many beautiful and vibrant colors in a fall scheme that I had not yet seen but somehow managed to pull it all together is a beautiful cohesive look. IT was stunning.

Check out Holly's amazing floral design for the ceremony!

This band, Liquid Pleasure, was literally one of the two best wedding bands I've heard in my 9 years of shooting. They were AH-MA-ZING and had the crowd blowing the roof off the barn!

{I shoved my way through the crowd and laid on the floor for that shot... yes i did!} The party ended with a little to go thank you of a warm chicken biscuit as guests left the barn. SO cute.
