Fall Wedding at St Francis Hall: Curt & Terri

Boy, have I been excited to share today's wedding with you. I got home from it so late, but I was so completely in love with everything that I stayed up till the wee hours scrolling through my pics with a big grin! Picture this: Fall in DC. Perfect weather, low 70's, colorful trees chaning colors, a enchanting historic Franciscan Monastery, beautiful elegant decor, one of the most beautiful brides I've ever seen, and a super fun, laid back bridal party and family. I mean what more can you ask for? Really. Do I get paid to do this? I mean stunning. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

Okay, let's start at the beginning... COLOR! I love the color palette Terri came up with. Coral and turquoise with accents of gold and plum. So fall, but yet so elegant. I love it. The bridesmaids dresses were so neat and each one chose their own gold purses and fun nail polish.

And I not only were these girls so fun (we were crakin' jokes all day) but apparently you have to be a super model to be part of the bridal party... honestly.  Wow. I call shooting ALL of your wedding girls- for real!

Ahhh... so sweet. There was so much love in this wedding. From the friends, to the bride and groom's family- it was really great.

Oh... and Curt- GQ called... they want you back to work when you return from your honeymoon. Check out that swagga'!

So here's an adorable first look.  Akins and I spotted this beautiful archway that seemed to just stretch on forever.  It turned out to be the perfect spot for the reveal!

Now you get a peak at this GORGEOUS venue. It's in the middle of DC where you would least expect it.  Saint Francis Hall is a beautiful historic venue with stone tunnels, lush gardens, mossy rocks, detailed mosaics and beautiful flora. I mean really, it was stunning. It's opened to the public with no entry fee so if you're local you should definitely pack and picnic and spend an afternoon exploring it.

This sweet friend (below) kept crying and making all the other girls cry! It was so sweet and so funny
The ceremony was a laid back, beautiful, late-afternoon garden ceremony. I loved the details that Terri and Pavaune Pearson, owner of Invited Special Events, came up with.  Mason jars hanging from trees, over 60 white pumpkins, leaf and other fall decor... well just scroll on to see how beautiful it all turned out.

As day gave way to evening, and evening gave way to night, the fun just kept coming.

How creative is this....

I thought this was pretty cool. This sign above turned over to a sign (at bottom of post) that said "Thank you". So creative!

My Deejay did a great job at blowin' up the dance floor.
I laughed so hard when I zoomed in on the picture below while editing. Each one of those girls just has SO MUCH hope in their eyes, it's really awesomely hilarious is you look closely. That girl on the right with the black dress is like snapping her fingers at the bouquet, "No you are not going to that other girl!" Hahaha.  (I know, I need a life!)

Ultimately, This girl crushed all the other's hopes... check out the side hand block... EPIC!

A big huge THANK YOU to you both Curt and Terri for letting me share in your big day. It was beautiful, fun, and filled with so much love. You both were so sweet. I wish you both so many blessings as you start your new lives together. And major high five to Pavaune Pearson from Invited Special Events for all the beautiful design work you did for this wedding- everything was beautiful!

  6. I still can't believe this day happened! I got to stand at an altar and watch the former chubby, shy (sorry Curt) kid who sat behind me in the 5th grade become this beautiful girl's husband! We had so much fun with you Michelle, still have your card, hope to use it soon (sorry Jeff) ;) -amarylis

  13. Really great photographs; these two obviously worked very hard on all of the special "little" touches that made the wedding so beautiful and intimate. My date especially loved the mason jars with candles hanging in the trees. Love and best wishes to the new happy couple!
