Fall Engagement Session: Brian & Sally

 

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Brian and Sally. They just booked me for their 2013 wedding  and a few days later they emailed me asking if we could squeeze in an engagement session before all the leaves were gone and the cold took over. We went to a nearby park and took a walk around, stopping when something caught our eye.

 

 

Side note: I often talk about thinking more along the lines of "coordinating" rather than being "matchy matchy" this is another great example. Kuddos you two! You look awesome.

I talk sometimes about "The Golden Hour" on my blog- here it is again.  It's something that's really hard to capture. You have to be at the right place at the right time,  not have the horizon obstructed, and have a photographer that is proficient in manual photography as backlighting is one of the hardest techniques to master. So glad that we got to take advantage of this beautiful golden shower.

 

 

When we walked up this hill and came to this big opened space I broke out with "... the hills are alive, with the sound of music"... it just had to be done.

Sally and Brian described themselves as laid back, fun and playful so I tried to let that come through in the pictures. I felt like the shot below really capture that personality.

 

 

 

I know Sally and Brian are a little speck in these last two but I think it's the painter in me that is drawn to them. There's something dreamy and romantic don't you think?
