Howdy! Wow, what a beautiful day... perfect day for a shoot. Carina Herman from Little Bird Creative hired me to shoot her portrait. She has an adorable graphic design & stationary company.  We were just two girls giggling, having so much fun shooting. She was fun, laid back... and need I say gorgeous? Here's a little peak at the sesh. I have to be a good girl and wrap up a few other things before I edit this one, but I'll post more in time! Taa taa...

Bonjour! Thrilled to be launching my new blog and share all my fun artsy shoots with you all! I'm so excited to plant roots down in DC and I've been busy shooting since I unpacked my last box.... err … I don't think I have actually finished unpacking yet (almost a year later)! Oh well! Here are some shots I've done since I've been here, and stay tuned for more awesome work to come. And one last thing... I'd like to give MAJOR props to my girl Sugar Bailey from DIYva Designs (DIYva Designs & sugar & art blog ) for designing my blog for me… she is a design goddess y’all! (and she’s my new D.C.  BFF… I think we may have been separated at birth…. mom?!? ) Alright… enjoy…. Leave lots of comments!

Jason & Ngoc Windy Potomac Engagement Sesh

When I book couples I always ask them to describe their style in 3 words. I can’t remember all 3 words that Ngoc chose but the two that stuck in my mind were sweet and whimsy. Great words! I wanted to do something different and fresh… with everything in bloom, inspiration was abundant! I’m calling this my A D D shoot because I had  S O many ideas and I wanted to do them all! So we did! Towards the end of the shoot we were sprinting along the river trying to beat sunset … but we got it all in and  it turned out beautiful. Ngoc and Jason were… need I say gorgeous, fun, and sooooo adorable.  Definitely sweet and whimsy. 

Jason was cracking me up. Like most guys, being in front of the camera was not on his top 10 list of things to do.  So he followed a few tips I gave him... but also he came up with his own little trick that was hilarious! He decided to bring along a little flask of whiskey which he would periodically slip out of his pocket and sneak a swig from. It was so funny... and definitely did the trick. Are you going to refill it for your wedding J ? 

This is one of those ideas that came to me while lying in bed ... love when something turns out just like you pictured it in your head! 

And continuing the theme of A D D... I sometimes say that I have editing A D D. I love my pictures bright vibrant and colorful... but then I also love them vintage and shabby looking.  So here's a few from the other side of the coin...

Will and Sarah's Classy Classic Wedding

I've shot lots of weddings since I've began working in 2005.  Will and Sarah I must say were really a stand apart couple. They were S O in love. It was so cute. You could just see it when they looked at each other and it came through the pictures. I left smiling that the world had one more happy marriage on the books.

The reception place was A- MA -ZING. It was at Glen View Mansion in Rockville MD. I was totally dying to go explore every corner, it was just so beautiful.

Enjoy married life... I sure do love it!

Sam & Veronica's Country Vintage Engagement

As a photographer and artist, my mind is always spilling over with creative ideas. I think of shoots when I'm driving, when I'm exercising, when I'm reading, and I've even dreamed awesome shoots into existence! The trick is finding the perfect clients to match up with the different creative ideas I have. Veronica and I were predestined! We had the same affinity for everything shabby chic, vintage, and dreamy... so this engagement shoot fit like a glove. And seriously.... how beautiful of a couple are they?

They were so fun to work with and I am SO excited to shoot their wedding in May. Thanks V&S you guys were amazing!
