Newborn Sesh: Baby Max

You're probably thinking... what the heck happened to the blog? Everything is different! Yes! I know. I'm in the middle of re-branding. I'm LOVING my new logo (you'll see it on the pictures below) that the ever-talented Sugar at Diyva Designs came up with for me. The blog is going in a totally different direction still so don't look at it now because it's not going to look like this at all soon :) Just look at the pics! :)  You like my logo though? I love it!

Awww so let me introduce baby Max! For the record, I am NOT a newborn, or baby photographer! I just don't think it's my strength. But, when my dear friend Brooke found out she was having a boy (my son Tristan's future BFF) I wanted to give her something special as a gift. So, even though this is not my field of expertise, I was hoping I could snap one or two that she would like, and you can't really go wrong with a blue-eyed, thick black- haired little stud like this guy right?!

Not only did I get to play with this melt-your-heart adorable little guy, but I loved working with Brooke and her minimalistic modern style.  She said she liked things simple- keep it about the baby not the props- which I totally agreed with. These days I feel like the newborns shots can sometimes be dominated by props, hats, baskets and all that jazz... and you loose the focus on the most beautiful thing... the adorable little baby! We tried to steer clear of that, keeping to a solid neutral background. I call this one "Blue Steel".

Ahhhhh so precious right?  And look at this little tiger growl... ahhh. He was 7 days old when we took these.

Ahhh,  precious. So although I'm not a newborn photographer... maybe as my brides start to have babies I'll have to make more exceptions! I thought we got some keepers. What do you think?

If  you're not already following us on Facebook click HERE and Like Us. I have great inspire-me ideas that I post, DIY projects, and of course, awesome pics from all my beautiful brides. I a wedding yesterday that I can't wait to share with you! Georgeous. Thanks Brooke and Rick for letting me take pics of little Max and cheers to the sleepless nights... welcome back to the club!

Spring Children's Portrait

Haappy belated Easter! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and was able to celebrate this marvelous resurrection weekend with friends and family.  Today I have a beautiful children's spring portrait to share with you all. With all the flowers in bloom I thought it was the ideal time to shoot this session and take advantage of the beautiful burst of color.

I really strive in my children's portraits to capture the personality of the child and to make the session fun and exciting for the child.  I was really pleased on capturing this beautiful girl's fun, vivacious and goofy personality.
(for some reason the stupid blog won't let me make the pictures regular size anymore- sorry!)

I love these last two

If you're thinking this girl is a SERIOUS goofball... it's because she's my sweet beautiful and wonderful daughter! This is her 3 year portrait. I shot it real fast (like 15- 20 minutes) after a bikeride and her hair was all crazy.... but I got it done and I'm happy with the results. Now I have to pick her which one of these will be her official 3 year portrait! Oye. So hard.

Which one is your favorite?

Missed you last Monday beacuse....

Hi friends and followers,

I missed you all last Monday for my typical Inspire-Me-Monday post. To say I had my hands full is the understatement of the year! On the ONE night that my husband and my in-laws were out of town... 18 days before my due date... yep you guessed it, little surprise for mamma! It was a crazy night but look at the blessing that came! Wanted to share this sweet shot with you. This is my new son at 2 days old with my daughter snuggling in bed :)

Thank you Jesus for a precious gift.

Sun kissed family Sesh

Okay- before we begin... let me clarify one thing... I do not do family portraits. I just don't. Sorry. Having said that... this past week I shot a family portrait! I know... I know... but how can I say no? Chris used to wake me up at 1:30 am and drag me out of my College dorm and make me get milk shakes in the middle of the night. And would make runs ever so memorable by sporadically blowing "snot rockets" as he felt the urge.  I mean how can I say no to that? And sweet Abigail and I have been dear friends for almost 10 years... so on my recent trip to Florida I just had to say yes!
Unfortunately, our shoot got rained out within about 15 minutes of being at the beach! Oh well, we got a a handful of adorable ones, had LOTS of fun, and who doesn't love eating ice cream in the rain at the beach?
